Intimate Partner Violence (also referred to as domestic violence) includes any form of actual or threatened abuse—whether physical, sexual, psychological, emotional, or financial—within an intimate relationship. This can occur in relationships of all types, including dating, common-law, married, divorced, cohabiting, or separated partners.
This document is here to help recognize the different forms of abuse, understand the warning signs, and connect you to available resources. No one is alone, and support is available.

Canadian Mental Health Association - Champlain East
Offers integrated community mental health support services for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, or those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with complex needs.
Services include intensive case management, housing support, court diversion and legal support, vocational support, health promotion, and hoarding support, delivered in the community and in clients’ homes. Includes the Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO), a recovery-focused, person-centred supportive housing program for individuals with serious mental illness who may require 24-hour care, aimed at helping tenants achieve and maintain stable, safe, and affordable housing.
Also provides Resource Centres offering day programs for adults with mental health challenges or social isolation, and mental health promotion workshops on a variety of wellness-related topics.

Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline
The Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline is a confidential, multilingual service, operating 24/7 to connect victims and survivors with social services, law enforcement, and emergency services, as well as receive tips from the public.
The hotline uses a victim-centered approach when connecting human trafficking victims and survivors with local emergency, transition, and/or long-term supports and services across the country, as well as connecting callers to law enforcement where appropriate.

A New Day
Provides a 4-bed recovery program for survivors of human trafficking . Located in Ottawa, the program follows a trauma-informed, survivor-centred approach, offering personalized support to help individuals heal and rebuild their lives.
Recognizing survivors’ complex needs, the program provides individualized care plans, wraparound services, and community partnerships to foster stability and empowerment. Survivors receive the time, resources, and guidance they need to progress at their own pace.
The program is designed for long-term support, with an average stay of 16 to 18 months, though the duration is flexible based on each person’s journey. Through safe housing, supportive recovery, and life skills development, survivors are given the foundation to move forward with resilience and hope.
Combining housing stability with holistic recovery services, A New Day Youth and Adult Services helps survivors reclaim their independence and begin anew.

Provides comprehensive home and community support for seniors, adults with physical disabilities, and individuals requiring palliative or end-of-life care.
